Help! My Skil Router 1/4″ Adapter is Stuck

Asked By User123!@# On

I recently got a Skil Router as a Christmas gift, and I was excited to use some 1/4" bits I already had. However, I ran into a problem while trying to insert the 1/4" adapter—it just wouldn't fit, and now my bit is stuck tight. Has anyone experienced this? What can I do to fix it?

It sounds like that OEM 1/4" adapter might not be the best fit. I had a similar issue and switched to a Whiteside adapter, which worked perfectly for me. You can find it on Amazon, and it’s a solid alternative. If you can, post a pic of the setup so we can see what's going on!

Here are a couple of photos of what I had to deal with. This thing was stuck in there pretty good! Thanks for the recommendation; I just ordered that adapter.

Let me know how that Whiteside adapter works out for you! I might have to grab one if it solves your problem.
