I'm getting ready to repot my Echeveria purpusorum and I'm really interested in propagating a new plant from it. I've heard that you can take a lower leaf off for propagation, but I'm concerned about potentially damaging my plant. Is cutting off a leaf common practice for newcomers like me? Any tips on how to do this without harming the original plant?

Don't cut the leaf! Instead, gently wiggle it until it pops off. It’s important to keep the tissue at the base intact for better propagation chances. Once it’s off, just place it upright on moist soil and be patient while it roots.
You need to take a whole leaf very close to the stem. Lay it down in the shade, and while some people skip watering, I prefer to water it when it feels dry. This tends to work well for propagation!
