Is it a good idea to run a dehumidifier while showering?

I'm trying to figure out whether I should keep my plug-in dehumidifier running during my showers. I think it might use a lot of energy, but my boyfriend believes it might be more efficient to run it while we're showering. Our bathroom is pretty small, so I'm looking for advice on whether I should keep it on during the shower, after, or if it even matters. What do you all think?

Yeah, I’d recommend keeping it on during your shower and a little while after. Since your bathroom is small, the extra humidity from the shower can make things feel damp, and the dehumidifier will help with that. Plus, the energy cost probably won’t be very noticeable for a small appliance like that.

It really depends on where you live and the season. If you’re in a humid area, keeping it on can definitely help. Just make sure to adjust it based on your surroundings—if you have HVAC running, you could be fine not using it. Maybe aim for your ideal humidity setting and let it do its thing on auto.
