Can I Mix Different Solar Panel Strings with Various Inverters?

Hey everyone! I'm curious about the compatibility between different types of solar panel strings and inverters. Specifically, can I use the Enphase system controller with one set of Enphase solar panels and a separate string from another company using a regular inverter? Both systems are rated for up to 20A of AC input, so I'm thinking they might work together. Would love to hear your thoughts on this!

Yes, you can mix systems like that, but there are a few things to keep in mind. If we're talking about grid-tied setups, regular inverters are designed to work when they detect stable AC voltage. So, as long as your inverter is built for it, it should be fine. Just keep in mind that if you're running an off-grid setup, you might face some issues if the load isn't high enough. The extra current could backfeed to the inverter, leading to potential damage. So make sure you know the specs of your inverter before diving in!

Thanks for the insight! I currently have a grid-tied system and was concerned about how they'd interact. Sounds like as long as everything's set up correctly, I should be alright.
