I'm just starting my solar power journey and recently picked up a 12.8v 100Ah LiFePO4 battery. For now, I bought a battery box that makes it easy to connect everything and includes some gauges. However, I'm confused because while the box is rated for 100A, the switch and fuses seem to only handle 10A or 50A. Am I in danger of damaging the box by using this 100Ah battery? I might be mixing up some of the terms like A versus Ah. Could anyone clarify things for me?

The capacity of deep cycle batteries is measured in amp-hours (Ah), so your 100Ah battery can deliver a significant amount of power. Generally, a LiFePO4 battery can typically handle up to its rated output, but the components in the system, especially the wiring and fuses, play a crucial role in what you can safely draw.
Make sure to check the specifications of your battery and anything you connect to it. Those smaller fuses are meant to protect the wiring, which means you'll need larger cables if you're planning to draw close to 100A. If you're thinking of adding an inverter later, just be aware that it'll indicate what wire size you should use. Also, keep in mind that when using LiFePO4 batteries, they can self-discharge and need regular charging to avoid being fully drained, especially below 0V.
