How to Connect My DWV9000 to a 1 7/8″ Hose?

I'm trying to figure out how to connect my DWV9000 vacuum to my 1 7/8" Stealth Sonic hose. The hose has a non-removable end that fits frictionally with the vacuum's tools, and I want to keep using those tools. Should I cut the end off the hose and use the DWV9190 adapter to connect it? Or is there a better series of adapters I can get to avoid cutting the hose? Would it be easier to just buy a new hose altogether? Any advice would be appreciated!

To connect your DWV9000 to that 1 7/8" hose, the DWV9190 won’t work directly because it threads onto a 1 1/4" hose, not a 1 7/8" one. You need a 1 7/8" to 2 1/2" adapter to make it work. From there, you can use the DWV9190 to fit into the DWV9000. Another option is to completely swap out your hose for a 2 1/2" one, which can connect directly to the DWV9000 without needing that extra adapter. Alternatively, DeWalt has a unique adapter that works with both hose sizes if you're interested in a quick fix!

For that second option you mentioned, would there be an adapter that connects 1 7/8" to 1 1/4" directly to skip the DWV9190? Or does the DWV9000 need a specific fitting for that?
