The official batteries are way too pricey for me, so I want to know what alternative brands you've tried and where to find them. I've had solid luck with off-brand batteries from companies like Greenworks. They seem pretty similar, but remember that a cheap battery usually means subpar cells. Just make sure not to leave them on the charger too long, as that can lead to issues—even with name brands!
I've tried several Makita knockoff batteries. To be honest, some of them have been decent, but none match the lifespan of genuine Makita batteries. Out of the eight I bought, two died after being fully drained and won't charge anymore. I typically use the cheaper ones in my string trimmer and leaf blower since those drain batteries pretty fast. Just depends on the brand you go for!
