I'm curious if anyone here uses weed fabric in their raspberry patches, mainly for keeping things organized. I don't mind some volunteer runners joining in, but I'm wondering if the fabric might actually help control the weeds. I plan to use wood chips as ground cover regardless, but would love to hear your thoughts on weed fabric!

Yeah, the fabric really doesn't work well for raspberry canes. I’ve seen weeds grow right through it, which defeats the purpose. Instead, I use wood chips throughout my raspberry area and rely on cardboard with wood chips in my pathways to keep things tidy.
Honestly, I regretted using weed fabric. Eventually, you'll need to take it out, and those little bits of plastic that get left behind? You'll be finding them forever. It's better to join the 'no weed fabric' club early on!
From my experience, weed fabric isn't the best solution. It can create more problems than it solves! Just stick with wood chips and focus on good old-fashioned weeding. It's way easier in the long run.
