I just bought my first house and I'm planning to do a full remodel of the kitchen before I move in. To save some money, I'm thinking about installing ready-to-assemble (RTA) cabinets myself. Since we plan to do a bigger kitchen expansion in about five years, I'm looking for a temporary kitchen cabinet solution. Is going with IKEA cabinets a smart choice for now, or is there something better for my situation?

IKEA cabinets are actually pretty great! The hardware is excellent, though the cabinets are made of MDF, which isn't as moisture-resistant as plywood. I've got some that are over 10 years old and they're still holding up well.
