Hey everyone! I'm in Zone 5B and I ordered some potatoes from Gurneys for the first time. Unfortunately, my shipping keeps getting postponed, and it looks like I won't receive them until the first week of April. I'm planning to plant this weekend, and I'm worried about the impact of planting that late. I got German Butterball and Reg Gold Potatoes, and they're also holding my Tasmanian Chocolate Tomatoes. Will this shipping delay affect my planting? Thanks in advance for any advice!

Not an expert here, but I read that it typically takes about 135 days to harvest potatoes. So if you end up planting them on April 1, you should be looking at a harvest around August 15. You still have a little bit of time to get them in the ground, so I wouldn't sweat it too much!
They should be alright! Honestly, I’d be more concerned about planting too early than waiting. Just a heads up, Gurneys has a reputation for shipping delays, so you’re not alone in that experience. A while back, I ordered an elderberry from them, and it showed up so late that I’d forgotten I even placed the order!
I've looked deeper into them and it looks like it's a consistent pattern with them having terrible shipping times. I got a little impatient and went ahead and ordered from Johnny's Seeds as well. Not the potatoes, but the Jalapenos that are apparently lost in the mail. Thanks!
