I recently bought two potted hydrangeas about two weeks ago, but I forgot to take off the plastic wrapping on them. After repotting today, I noticed a thin layer of mold on the soil surface, although the roots seem fine. Some of the flowers have lost their color and look dry and wilted. I'm looking for advice on how to help them recover. I've already watered them; should I also trim the wilted flowers?

When you mention 'wilted flowers,' I'm guessing these aren't new ones? You'll want to cut them off for sure. If the plant is fully leafed, I’d be curious where they’ve been kept. If they've been indoors too long, they might struggle with the transition now that they're outside.
Are you keeping your hydrangeas inside or outside? This can make a difference in their care!
Definitely deadhead those wilted flowers and cut them back to the first healthy buds. Hydrangeas are pretty tough, so now's a great time to do it! The mold shouldn't harm them, but you might want to break it up a bit just in case.
