I've got a kitchen sink that drains really poorly, and sometimes dirty water even backs up into the second basin. My kitchen was completely remodeled about five years ago with all new plumbing, yet the drainage has never been great. Here's a link to some photos of the plumbing under my sink: https://imgur.com/a/Y9URldE. I see the hot and cold water lines going to the faucet and another line for the dishwasher, which connects to the garbage disposal. However, I don't see any venting visible. I'm wondering if that's hidden in the wall or if the issue might be with the downstream pipes. What steps can I take to improve the drainage? Should I focus on snaking the pipes or using something like Drano? Also, if it's a venting problem, how can I check or fix that? Can I install an air admittance valve and where would that go in the piping?

Could the renovation have missed some parts of the drainage system? If they only replaced the section right by the sink and not further downstream, that could definitely impact drainage. Just checking!
Before diving into more serious fixes, it's a good idea to take off the P trap and check for any clogs there. It's a common bottleneck and easy to access, might just be a simple fix!
