Hey everyone! I have a basement with some walls that are partially plastered, and I'm a bit anxious about tackling the rendering myself since I'm still pretty new to DIY projects. The walls are made of brick and they've been checked for dryness by a professional before I bought the house. The existing plaster is about 1cm thick in the areas it's applied. I'm considering alternatives like gluing XPS foam or drywall boards with foam glue, but I'm not sure how that would affect moisture control and mold. Should I just man up and plaster the walls myself instead?

You can't just glue drywall directly onto the basement walls because of the concrete or brick surface. It's best to install a vapor barrier first, then add insulation if you want it, and finally fur the walls to properly attach the drywall. That way, you protect against moisture issues.
