Where Do Woodworkers Get Reclaimed Lumber?

I've noticed that many businesses promote their products as being made from reclaimed lumber. I'm curious about two things: where exactly do they source this reclaimed wood from, and how do these companies manage to find enough supplies to keep their business running?

In my experience, local suppliers often have access to old buildings, especially in areas with a lot of history. For instance, in the mid-Atlantic region, there are numerous 200+ year old structures that serve as a source for reclaimed lumber. It’s surprising how much wood is available from buildings that aren't necessarily labeled as "historic."
