I have a question about using dried soil for repotting plants. When I buy new potting mixes, they're usually damp, but sometimes my soil ends up completely dry. Can I still use it for repotting, and if so, what's the best way to prepare it?

Yeah, you can absolutely use dried soil! Just add some water to the container, but keep in mind that it might take some time for it to reabsorb the moisture. It’s definitely doable!
Definitely! If your mix has peat moss, it can become hydrophobic when it's bone dry, making water roll off initially. Just give it some water and let it sit for a few hours to rehydrate properly.

Plan ahead if you're using totally dried soil. You can place a big chunk in a container and pour boiling water over it. Just be careful, as it takes a while for it to soften up. Avoid using cold water—it takes even longer! And remember, don’t use it on your plants while it’s still hot!
