I'm looking to install a pocket door in a 24" opening and I've heard mixed opinions about whether we can safely remove some studs for the installation. The wall is currently exposed, and I want to make sure I handle this correctly before hiring more help. Any insights would be appreciated!

Have you considered looking into a barn door instead? They can provide similar benefits to a pocket door, are easier to install, and often require less maintenance in the long run.
Just a heads up, if you're moving things around, be sure to address those switches in the wall!
Yes, you can definitely remove those studs! If the ceiling joists are running parallel to the wall and aren't tied into it, then that wall isn't structural. The header over your door is probably not bearing much weight either. Just be cautious while you work on it!
