I've got this 8-inch box made from 1/4-inch plywood that's glued together using Titebond wood glue. I'm trying to figure out how to take the top off without damaging the box itself. Does anyone have any suggestions besides just prying at it? Any tips or techniques would be super helpful!

A jigsaw would probably do the trick, but make sure you have a short blade to avoid hitting the bottom of the box. You could clamp the box to the table to keep it steady while cutting. If you have access to a sliding miter saw, that could work too, but 8 inches might be tricky. Just be cautious, and practice a bit if you're unsure!
Honestly, Titebond is pretty strong, so you might have to go for a more careful approach. One idea is to cut just below the top, maybe bring the height down to about 7 13/16 inches. I've heard steam can help loosen glue too, but I'm not sure how effective it would be. Has anyone tried that with success?
I think steam could work, especially if you apply it around the seams where the glue is. Just be careful with how much water you use!

I’m actually planning to start with a gentle pry using a flathead screwdriver. If that doesn't work, I'll switch to the jigsaw. I'm thinking about using a metal blade since it'll have smaller teeth and will be less aggressive.
