I've got some DeWalt DCB batteries (like the DCB205 and DCB609) that power a bunch of my tools, including a leaf blower, jigsaw, drill, and circular saw. I recently inherited a few of my late father's tools, including a fluorescent work light and a cordless band saw. He had also bought some DCA1820 adapters, and I thought they would let me use my DCB batteries with these older tools.
However, it seems like the DCA1820 adapters don't fit any of the tools I've tried, even though they look almost compatible. My question is: is there any adapter similar to the DCA1820 that works with DCB batteries and can fit these older tools? Thanks a ton for your help!

It sounds like you're dealing with those older 'post style' batteries. They might have a different footprint compared to the DCB205 style, which could explain the fit issue. Just to clarify, older 18V tools usually work with specific older battery models, like the ones your dad might have had. Have you tried testing the DCA1820 with the DCB609? Just a heads-up, those adapters only work with standard 20V MAX batteries, not the FlexVolt ones. But you might have luck with third-party adapters – they're often more versatile!
