Hey everyone! I've got this smoke detector up on a super high ceiling in my living room—like 20 feet up! I need to change the battery, but I'm not looking to get a super tall ladder or hire heavy equipment like scaffolding or scissor lifts. Any DIY ideas for safely reaching it?

You know, I've heard of people calling the fire department for help with this kind of thing. They don’t do it all the time, but if you ask, they might be able to send someone out to help you out when they’re free. Just a thought!
Honestly, if you're not keen on heights or don't want to buy a tall ladder, it might be easier to just hire a contractor for this. They can replace the smoke detector and even install a new one at a height that's more manageable for you.

I didn't think that was a real thing! Might give it a shot.
