Hey fellow gardeners! With the current warm weather, I'm wondering if anyone else is starting their planting early this year instead of waiting until the usual May 10th. I get a bit anxious about the possibility of a late frost, but I've already sown some carrots, chard, brassicas, lettuces, arugula, spinach, and leeks directly into the ground. Just picked up some sugar snap peas and plan to soak them tonight before planting tomorrow. While I'm still holding off on tomatoes, cucumbers, eggplants, and peppers, I'm considering starting those indoors rather than waiting until April 1. What are your thoughts? How's everyone else approaching this?

I'm definitely considering starting early too, especially if the temperatures improve a bit here in NY/6a. I'm really hoping nighttime temps hit 45°F or above consistently for about a week. Right now, it's dipping down to 32-43°F at night, so I'm playing it cautious. Usually, our last frost date is May 1st, but I’ve heard we might sneak things in a couple weeks ahead if the weather cooperates!
I’ve already gotten a head start on my caladiums, alocasias, and colocasias for my outdoor pots, so I'm all in for early planting. Just keep an eye on that weather!
