I'm considering buying my first track saw. Currently, I have a Sawstop Jobsite Pro and a small table saw, which works well for most projects but struggles with large panels. I've done some research on track saws and I'm stuck between the Makita and Milwaukee options, especially since I want to avoid spending a fortune on a Festool. If I choose Makita, is it worth going for the 40V over the 36V model? I've heard a lot of praise for Makita, but I've also come across several discussions leaning towards Milwaukee. This purchase marks the beginning of a new tool collection for me, as I've mostly used DeWalt tools, but I've been advised against their track saw. What do you think?

I've been using the Makita track saw and I really have no complaints! It gets the job done smoothly and I love the precision it offers.
If I were you, I'd seriously consider either Milwaukee or Makita. I ended up going with Milwaukee because I like how it handles in imperial units and the riving knife design. I found the anti-kickback system on Festool a bit annoying, since it shuts the saw off during a kickback—less hassle with Milwaukee's tried-and-true riving knife. Plus, the depth adjustments on Milwaukee are simpler compared to the screw system on Makita.
I went for the Festool TS60 last year and it's become one of my go-to tools—I use it in practically every project! That being said, I understand that people love their Milwaukee and Makita saws too, so you can't go wrong with any of the top brands.

I'm glad to hear you love your Festool! I’m really trying to weigh the pros and cons of each brand before making a decision.
