Hi everyone, happy St. Patrick's Day! ? I'm diving into gardening and absolutely loving it! I've got a big yard that gets half to full sun, so I'm excited to plant some flowers. I'm hoping to get some suggestions for low to medium maintenance perennial flowers that are bright and colorful. I currently have some Hyacinths, and while I don't mind watering 1-2 times a day, I'd prefer flowers that won't drive me crazy to maintain. It'd definitely help to know your location since winter hardiness varies. You mentioned being in Canada with cold winters, so keep that in mind when selecting. But many of those you listed should work, especially if you’re in a zone that allows for those flowers.
You might want to consider Daffodils, Lenten Roses, Irises, Black-Eyed Susans, Echinacea (the purple ones are stunning), Phlox, and Catmint (though keep an eye on Catmint since it can spread). These varieties do well here in zone 7, although knowing your winter hardiness zone would help a bit more. Happy planting!

Yeah, totally! I’m in Canada, and winters can hit around -10°C/14°F. But summers get pretty warm around 28°C/82°F. Thanks for the reminder!
