What’s the Best Way to Cut Through a Steel-Belted Tire Without Power Tools?

I want to repurpose the rubber from a steel-belted tire for projects like resoling my shoes. I'm looking for a method that doesn't involve power tools because that feels too easy. Any suggestions?

If you're set on doing it without power tools, a hacksaw might be your best bet. It's not the easiest method, but it'll get through the rubber. Just beware of the steel belts; they can be tough. You might also want to try side cutters or tin snips on the belts themselves.

Large bolt cutters can be an option, but just remember, cutting tires manually is a bit of a pain. It's a scale of 'not great' to 'really not great.' But hey, you can always get creative with other tools!
