How Many Hours Do You Spend on Your Hobbies Each Week?

I'm curious to hear how many hours you all dedicate to your hobbies each week. Personally, I find myself only able to spend about 4 to 6 hours at most, and sometimes it even dips lower. I have too many projects on my plate and often struggle to make progress. Some weeks, I don't get to work on anything at all due to time constraints. How do you manage your hobby time?

I can be all over the map with my hobby time. Some weeks I get around 2-4 hours, but if I have a solid project lined up, I might binge a whole weekend with up to 20 hours in the shop! It's really just about finding that sweet spot between work and personal time, I guess.

I like that approach! It's great to be flexible.

Feast or famine indeed! Just go with the flow.

Honestly, I've changed my perspective on how I view my hobby time. I used to stress about how many hours I put in, but now I focus on just enjoying it when I can. Some weeks I might get zero hours, and that's okay! A couple of big changes helped: I stopped tying my hobby to deadlines or gifts for others, and I let go of the idea that every hour spent needed to be productive. Now, I'm just happy to spend whatever time I get—whether that's 5 hours a week or just a couple of minutes.

That sounds like a healthier approach! Stressing over time takes the fun out.

Exactly! It's great to hear that others feel the same.

Life's been getting in the way for me too! Some weeks I can squeeze in zero hours due to adult responsibilities, while other weeks I might dedicate a whole weekend to my hobby—like about 12 hours total this year for woodworking. I just wish I had more time to spend on my projects, but I guess we all have to adapt to our busy lives.

Right? Balancing everything is the real challenge.

I can relate! It's hard to find time when adulting gets hectic.
