I received a quote of $3500 for installing basic, primed composite trim in my split-level home, which is 1800 sq ft. This would involve two contractors working for three days, while I'll be moving furniture out of the way as needed since we're still living here. We're hoping to get the trim done before listing the house. Does anyone think this price is reasonable?

In my experience, labor can be expensive, especially for two professionals over three days. If the trim installation is as detailed as windows and doorways, that price doesn’t seem too far off. I’ve spent more than that just on materials for my place, and the labor is tough to sync up if you're doing it with less experienced help.
It really depends on what types of trim they're installing. Is it just baseboards, or does it include window and door casings too? If it's a mix, then $3500 might be reasonable. Also, don’t forget to check if that price includes materials! Getting a couple more quotes can help clarify things.
I’d say the price is on the higher end but not outrageous. Materials can add up quickly. If you were to paint the trim before installation, it would save you some hassle later. Just a tip from someone who rushed through it. Would also help to know how many linear feet of trim you're looking at.
