I'm really struggling to get a rubber sheet to stick to wood. I've tried a ton of adhesives: contact cement (from different brands), epoxy, shoe goo, e6000, PL polyurethane adhesive, and even super glue—but nothing seems to work. The rubber mat I'm using is made from recycled rubber, and I've even tried sanding the surface without success. Has anyone been able to successfully bond rubber to wood and can share some tips or suggestions?

It sounds like the rubber might have some silicone components, which can make sticking really difficult. A lot of adhesives don’t bond well to silicone. You might want to consider using something like Silpoxy, which is specifically designed for silicone bonds. Just a thought!

Have you tried using 3M's Fastbond contact adhesive? Just be sure to follow the instructions carefully—apply to both surfaces and let it become tacky before sticking them together. If you’re using a heavy rubber mat, some weight on top while it cures can help a lot!

Another option to consider is using a marine adhesive like 4200 or 5200. They are known for their strong bond and should work well for rubber. If you're able to sand the rubber just a bit more, that might help, too!
