I'm located in Wisconsin Zone 5b and I'm considering delaying my summer planting to around June 1st this year. I want to make the most of my spring growing season. What crops have you had success with during spring?

I usually plant beans and peas directly, but I don’t really count them as spring crops. As for true spring favorites, I have asparagus and rhubarb growing in their own dedicated beds. They’re pretty reliable around this time!
I’m upstate NY, so I have a similar climate. Honestly, there’s not a ton you can plant in spring that will be out of the ground in time for summer crops like tomatoes. I typically put in my spring crops, and they come out in July for fall planting a few weeks later. If you need them to be done by June, I’d suggest going for radishes, lettuce, or some baby greens like kale or tatsoi. They mature fast!
