I just installed a chair railing, but I wasn't expecting it to look so unfinished at the end. I'm looking for suggestions on how to create an end-cap or make it look more polished. I'm considering the option of wrapping the railing slightly around the white part of the pillar. The problem is that I glued it down, so I'm worried that trying to remove it will damage the drywall. But if I try to cut it at a 45-degree angle like that, won’t it pull some drywall off when I pry the piece off?
One option is to bevel the edge with a hand saw, then just prime and paint it to match your decor. This can help give it a more finished look without needing to remove the railing.
I didn’t realize you’d glued it down. I’d still give it a shot—just score the drywall paper and take it slow.
