I'm thinking about adding a small bird bath to a sheltered spot in my flower bed. For those of you who already have bird baths, do you notice a lot of birds coming to visit? I know it's important to change the water often, but I'd also love to hear about your experiences with bird baths, especially whether you prefer a low bird bath or one that's raised on a plinth. Thanks for your insights!

I have a bird bath that sits directly on the ground, and I've placed a couple of big rocks around the edge to help the birds access the water better. Birds, bees, and even hedgehogs all come to drink, especially during hot spells when other water sources dry up. I keep it in a clear area without nearby hiding spots for cats, which helps a lot!

I live in a place with hardly any cats, so I'm hoping a low bird bath will be safe here!
