I'm having trouble with my door not staying closed. Whenever I pull it shut, it seems to pop back open instead of latching. Is this something I can easily fix, or should I consider replacing the door? I posted a photo to illustrate the issue: https://imgur.com/a/7QSoCkt

It sounds like the problem might be with the tongue (the part that sticks out near the knob). It should fit into the strike plate on the door frame when you close it. Try closing the door slowly and watch how it aligns. If it’s misaligned, you might just need to adjust the strike plate a bit for a snug fit.
I watched it close, and it looks like the tongue does hit the plate properly. How can I verify it’s actually latching and fix it if it isn’t?
