I recently had my shower fully tiled, but I'm running into persistent issues with the grout on the base tiles breaking apart. Despite having it redone a couple of times, the problem keeps reoccurring. I thought it might be due to an uneven base, but since I used a kerdi base, it should be perfectly flat. Another concern I have is whether the small gaps between the tiles are causing the grout instability. I'm starting to think I might need to replace the tiles with ones that have larger spacing to improve the situation. Any advice? Here's a look at the problem: [the problem](https://i.redd.it/bheynzcvfhpe1.jpeg)

I think your spacing is actually okay. The issue could be that the tiles aren't properly bonded to the base, which might cause these cracks. Try gently prying one up to see if it wiggles. If it does, that’s a red flag for sure!
It sounds like you might have some movement in the floor. If you step on the area and feel any give, that's a sign the floor needs work. A squishy floor often leads to cracking grout, so you might need to redo the base.

Totally agree! Movement is usually the root cause for these cracks. It might be worth checking the entire setup - if it’s not right at the base, everything above it can fail too.
