Looking for Band Saw Recommendations on a Budget

I'm interested in getting a band saw but my budget is capped at $200. What features should I prioritize, and what should I avoid? Also, is it worth it to buy a used band saw within that price range?

Honestly, $200 isn’t going to take you too far, especially in the used market. If you’re planning to do more than just occasional cuts, you might want to aim for at least a 14" saw with a minimum 1hp motor. It will give you more versatility. Are you set on that budget, or could you stretch it a bit?

For a budget of $200, you're really looking at used options if you want something decent. New ones, even budget brands like Ryobi, tend to start around that price and aren’t great. Check out places like Craigslist or auctions to find a better deal on a quality used band saw. Keep your eyes peeled for estate sales, too!

If you don't urgently need the band saw, my advice would be to save up a little more. However, if you find something used in your price range, go for it, but be prepared for some compromises in quality.
