I recently bought a house built in 2005, and it's been vacant for about a year before I moved in. I've done a lot of work to improve it—I painted all the walls, replaced the old carpets with LVP, and did a deep clean. However, every time I come home from work, it just feels stale and old, especially in the kitchen area. I've tried using wall plugs, candles, and essential oils, but nothing seems to really freshen things up. What more can I do to make my home smell inviting and fresh?

It sounds like you might need to take a look at your air ducts. When we bought our foreclosure, it took years to get rid of the weird smell. We had issues with the vents, which were blowing in musty air from our crawl space. Once we cleaned the ducts, the smell improved significantly. Even if there's not much in the ducts, cleaning them can make a big difference!
That's great advice! I have a geothermal system, so the filters are a bit different, but I'll definitely look into getting the ducts cleaned.
