How Can I Repurpose My Broken Smart TV into a Functional Monitor?

Hey everyone! My Philips smart TV just broke and now it's caught in this boot loop where it shuts itself down after a bit. I've tried everything from factory resets to various fixes, but nothing's worked. Since it's an Android TV, I was wondering if there's a way to reuse the panel and HDMI inputs by hooking it up to something like a Raspberry Pi. My goal is to turn it into a DIY monitor. I know this could be a lot more complicated than I'm thinking, but I have a computer science background and some electronics experience. The panel is fine, and I'm not worried about keeping the original features—just really want to figure out how to use the panel and manage different HDMI inputs. Any insights or hacks would be appreciated!

Honestly, it could be a big hassle trying to fix that TV. You might end up spending more time and money than it's worth. There are tons of cheap or even free displays out there. If you really want to tinker with it, you could salvage some parts for fun, like the backlight or other components. But if you want a working monitor, just find a working TV and customize from there. It's usually a lot easier!

Thanks for the advice! I was hoping for some kind of simple DIY fix, but I definitely see your point about the time and effort involved.
