Another thing I'm wondering about is how to configure the panels for optimal performance over a distance of about 150 feet. Should I wire them in series for more voltage or in parallel for more amps? My system is pretty basic, using a 600w inverter with four DOKIO 100w flexible panels, a 40w MBBT, and a 12.8v 100aH battery. I'm looking to power a few small devices like a water pump and lights, and I want to maximize efficiency while minimizing losses. Is there an ideal wiring setup that would help reduce voltage drop, or would it end up being the same no matter what since I'm using 10AWG throughout? Also, should I consider placing the panels closer to the cabin, or would it be better to find a spot with more sunlight even if it means adding some distance? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

For minimizing power loss, you definitely want to maximize the voltage, so running your panels in series is the way to go. Higher voltages mean lower current, which reduces energy loss over distance.
