Hey everyone! I'm having some trouble with my sump pump and could really use your expertise. Since we moved into our home, I've noticed that the height of the sump pump seems to have changed. This started happening after some intense storms we had recently. I'm wondering what could be causing this issue. I'm thinking that perhaps the pit is elevated due to increased groundwater levels, but to be honest, I don't know much about this. If it's helpful, I'll try to share some pictures of the setup!

It sounds like you might be referring to the elevation of the sump basin rather than the pump itself. After heavy rains, it’s common for the groundwater to rise, which could cause the basin to fill up and appear higher. It’s good to keep an eye on it to ensure the pump is working properly to manage the water.

Yeah, I think that’s exactly what’s happening. The pump seems to be doing fine, but I guess I’ll need to monitor the level more closely.
