I'm looking to replace my really old range hood, and I know that it might affect the cabinet, backsplash, and the wood panel surrounding the range, which could need some repairs. What do you all think is the most cost-efficient way to handle this? Should I hire a hood installer first and then get a handyman, or would it be better to hire a contractor to manage everything, or is that just overkill? You won't find a general contractor willing to take on just that small job without charging a lot, but given the number of trades involved, it might make sense to have one after all. Maybe start with a handyman who can manage it all?
That's a good idea! If the handyman has connections, they can bring in a licensed electrician if needed.
