Hey everyone! I have access to a wood shop and have worked on a few projects, but I feel like I'm still missing some foundational skills in woodworking. I really want to get better, especially since I'm interested in creating sculptures as well as furniture like benches, tables, and chairs. Could anyone suggest how I can improve my basics and move forward with my woodworking journey? Thanks a lot!

I've been taking Steve Ramsey's weekend woodworker course, and it’s been a solid investment for me. For around $150, you get 6-7 weeks of projects and detailed video lessons. It really dives into the setups for cuts and the reasons behind them, much deeper than the usual videos. Highly recommend it!
Check out Steve Ramsey's YouTube channel, "Woodworking for Mere Mortals". It’s packed with great introductory material that really helped me grasp the basics. He explains tool usage really well, so it’s a fantastic way to start. Honestly, the best way to learn is just to dive in—grab some inexpensive wood and start building!
