Can I DIY Removing My Closet Doors and Frames Even If I’m a Beginner?

I'm trying to make my room feel more spacious and part of that involves removing my closet entirely so I can fit my bed in that corner. I'm pretty sure the closets aren't load-bearing, but I'm curious about how feasible it is for someone with little experience, like me, to tackle this project. What would it take to take down the closet and patch up the drywall afterwards?

Removing the bi-fold doors is usually pretty straightforward and can be done even if you're a beginner. However, if you're looking to take out the entire closet, that’s a bigger job. It might involve some wall removal, which can be intensive. Just make sure to double-check if any of the walls are load-bearing—that's crucial before you start tearing anything down! Check for any beams in the attic or ceiling that might give you a clue.

Thanks for the tip! I'm learning as I go and will definitely look into the load-bearing issue. I really want to keep the momentum going with my home project!
