Hey everyone! I'm curious about the clearance items at Home Depot. If a product has been on the clearance end cap for three months, can I ask for a further markdown? I understand I can make the request, but do managers typically have the flexibility to approve that? I've noticed that people have gotten discounts on items with damage or missing parts in the past, and I'm wondering if the same applies here. I'm eyeing a Milwaukee Shop Vac attachment that's only been marked down by about 50 cents, but it's been sitting there since December. Any insights?

It never hurts to ask! Managers usually can mark things down by up to 50%, and I’ve noticed you can often get better deals if the item is damaged. Just point out any issues with the product and express that you'd be willing to take it off their hands! I once got a damaged oven for 75% off—it was marked for repair, but I fixed it up and it’s still running fine a year later!
I’ve worked at Home Depot before, and any cashier can usually give you a discount of about $25 or sometimes even $50. It's mainly used for minor pricing complaints without needing a manager's approval, but you can definitely use it for this kind of situation too! I’d suggest asking for a 10-20% discount if it’s been there for a while and isn’t in perfect condition.
