Hey everyone! I'm working on a custom mix for my succulents, made up of 25% coconut coir, 25% plant-based compost, and 50% pumice. The pumice I received is mostly around 1/4 inch, with some pieces closer to 3/8 inch. Since I'm potting plants in 3-inch terracotta pots, I'm debating whether to switch to smaller 1/8 inch pumice for better root grip or save the larger pumice for bigger pots. Any thoughts on what size would work best?

Totally agree with the suggestions for smaller pumice. The bigger particles can make it harder for plants to establish roots and may not retain enough moisture in those tiny pots.
I think going with the smaller pumice for your 3-inch pots is a great idea! It will help the roots spread out better and bind to the soil more effectively than the larger pieces.
I absolutely second using the 1/8 inch pumice! It promotes better root growth in smaller pots and retains more moisture, so it should really benefit your plants.
