Hey everyone! I'm thinking about relocating my workspace to be in front of my window, but the sunlight is super bright and makes me look washed out on video calls. Has anyone found effective ways to manage this kind of lighting? I'm considering sheer blinds, but I'd love to hear about any other solutions you might have before I invest in them. It feels silly to keep adjusting blinds every time I'm on a call!

Have you tried using a different camera? Sometimes the built-in ones on laptops aren't the best and can make you look worse in bright light. It might just be that your camera isn't handling the exposure well. You can also experiment with adjusting the light settings if your camera has that option.
A quick fix could be to place something like a piece of cardboard between you and the window. It can act as a barrier to the intense light without needing to mess with blinds constantly.
Honestly, I wouldn’t stress too much about how you look on camera. But if you’re in client meetings or interviews, it might be worth fixing the lighting. Just find a camera with better exposure settings! It can make a world of difference.
