I've been trying to figure out the best placement for a raised stop on my planer sled. Should it go at the front of the sled (leading into the planer) or at the back (after the workpiece)? I'm leaning towards the back to avoid kickback, especially considering the direction the blade spins, but I keep seeing different opinions in videos. What do you think?

I actually set up my sled with a fixed stop at the front, but I also have a movable one at the back that I adjust based on the length of the board. It seems to work well for varying sizes!
I personally have mine set up with the raised stop at the front. The rollers handle a lot of the force, so as long as the board is secure, that setup works well. I think the risk of shifting is more significant than any potential issue with kickback from the blade.
Same here, front works fine for me too!
From my experience, the raised stop should really only be at the back. Its job is to keep the board in place on the sled. If it's at the front, it doesn't really do much since the rollers push the board down and through. Just a thought!
