I'm currently redecking my trailer and was curious if anyone has ever tried using used motor oil on their deck boards. I have a few jugs of it lying around and was wondering if it can be mixed with anything like sand. What's the best way to apply it? Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated!

When I saw your post, I thought it was about getting rid of oil stains on deck boards. I had a similar issue with my generator leaking oil. I'll be using hot water and Dawn soap to clean it up tomorrow!
You might want to check out information on nitrosamines; they're linked to some serious risks. Think of motor oil as a last-ditch effort for preserving wood. Not really a great choice!
Using used motor oil on your deck boards is a bad idea, guys. It's really harmful to the environment and can also be dangerous for your skin. I'd recommend against it completely!

Exactly! Instead of using the oil, take it to a recycling center that can dispose of it properly. It's worth spending a little on a product that’s safer and more effective.
