Need Help with My Luxury Vinyl Flooring Installation

I'm having a hard time with my Luxury Vinyl Flooring installation. After cutting a plank in half, I realized that one side lost its locking mechanism. Now, I can connect one side of the cut plank to the adjacent plank, but I can't lock another plank into the cut side, which is really confusing. I'm just trying to figure out where I'm going wrong since it seems like it shouldn't be this difficult to install vinyl wood flooring.

Make sure you only cut planks at the start and end of each row. Your first row might have to be cut lengthwise too to keep it straight. I recommend checking out a few YouTube tutorials for a visual guide. Let us know how it goes!

So if I’m only cutting at the ends, doesn’t that mean I’ll have shorter pieces on each end with longer pieces in between? Won't that look strange?
