Best M18 Battery Options Without Balancing Issues?

I'm looking for recommendations on the best M18 batteries that won't have any balancing issues. I've read that the 6.0Ah high output and the 5.0Ah regular batteries might be the only two options that are not affected by this problem. However, I'm hoping to hear if there are any other options out there. I'm not interested in high drain batteries, but rather the ones that will last the longest. I'm concerned about balancing issues after learning about how they can impact performance. Can anyone clarify whether the 6Ah and 5Ah are indeed the only safe bets?

I work with a variety of M18 batteries — 5Ah, both 6Ah standard and high output, plus 8Ah and 12Ah models. Honestly, I haven’t had any balancing issues with them. My experience suggests that the type of charger you use matters too. It’s often recommended to stick to standard chargers instead of quick charge ones to minimize risk, even though I personally use a rapid charger without issues. Just sharing my experience!

If I decide to swap out two 8Ah HO batteries for two 6Ah Forge lithium pouches, do you think the 6Ah will last significantly longer?

Unfortunately, almost all M18 batteries have some balancing issues, so you're not alone in your concerns. It’s definitely frustrating when you’re trying to keep everything running smoothly outdoors, especially with equipment from brands like Ego and Husqvarna which do have better battery management features.

Thanks for the heads-up! I'm really worried about the durability of my gear with all these battery fluctuations.
