Hey everyone! I'm working on a DIY dishwasher prototype that uses hot soapy water sprayed in a spiral to clean dishes. I'm using an Ikea tub for this project and I'm trying to figure out the best way to drain the water that collects in it. So far, I have a couple of ideas:
1. Tilt the tub by about 3-4cm and add a drain hole in one corner.
2. Consider laser cutting an acrylic sheet to create a tapering false bottom (though I'm not sure if this is feasible - I'll check with some locals).
Any other suggestions?

I saw a YouTuber, a guy from China, who made something similar using a fish tank pump, lawn sprinkler, and solenoids. You might want to check that out for inspiration! Also, early Victorian washing machines are a fun watch. One of them hilariously uses a broom to hit the dishes.
But seriously, have you thought about just draining via a tube at the bottom pointing towards a drain? It sounds simple, but effective!
Yeah, that's a good idea! But if I go for a bottom drain, I need a tilt for water flow which might mess with the spinning arm. What do you think about laser cutting a bowl-shaped section in the acrylic so it drains from the center?
