Hey folks! I'm on a mission to add to my boyfriend's DeWalt tool collection, which he's super proud of. Every holiday, I make sure to grab him something DeWalt-themed. This time, he's specifically looking for 12V accessories, such as an impact driver and a flashlight that can use his existing 12V batteries. Any suggestions or helpful tips on what to get? Also, I'm considering picking up some larger milliampere batteries since he currently has the 2Ah ones — would that be a good idea?

Keep an eye out for the DCL045; it's designed for under-hood work, but it also works well as an area light. It’s a little pricier, but everyone who has it seems to love it. This could really complement his collection!
Upgrading to larger batteries is a great idea! The 3Ah batteries give you about 50% more runtime while staying the same size as the 2Ah ones. It's a solid choice for extending his tool usage without the hassle of swapping batteries too often.
The DCB124 is another good battery option to consider!
You might want to check out the DCF601 for a solid 12V drill/driver. It's really popular! Just a heads up though, it's more of a screwdriver without an impact feature, so for an impact driver, look at the DCF801 — it’s compact and works well in kits or as a standalone tool. For flashlights, the DCL510 isn’t the best but the DCL077 is versatile and works with both 12V & 20V batteries. Just be warned, it tends to drain batteries quickly, so pairing it with a DCB126 5Ah battery might help.
Great suggestions! I've seen those flashlights too. The under-hood light sounds perfect, especially if you plan to pass on the old one. Plus, since he already has a powerful tripod light, this could make a fantastic addition!

I think the under-hood light is a fantastic choice! It’s specialized but practical, especially if he spends time working on cars. That will definitely enhance his setup!
