I have a refinished tub that was done with a spray-on product, but it's built up a lot of soap scum, and possibly some hard water stains too. I've tried using gentle cleaners and even specific tub cleaners, but nothing seems to work, even when using a plastic scrub pad or brush. I did test a corner with baking soda, which worked, but I'm concerned it might scratch the enamel. Is baking soda safe to use, or is there a better product to recommend that won't damage the tub?

Have you tried using Easy-Off oven cleaner from the blue can? It's non-fuming and you don't need gloves. If your tub's surface is smooth, just spray it on, wait about 20-30 minutes, and then use a plastic kitchen pan scraper to lift the grime right off!
You can give Vim or Ajax a shot; they have just the right level of abrasiveness to tackle soap scum without being too harsh.
Have you considered using steam? I use a steam generator, and it works wonders without any chemicals. The steam helps melt away the scum, and then you just rinse it off with clear water. You need to keep the steam moving, though!
