I recently bought a 14" band saw from Harbor Freight and have completed a few projects, like band saw boxes. However, I've already broken two 3/16" 4TPI blades. The first break happened due to my own incorrect cutting technique, but the second break was after I thought I had improved. My main question is whether this second break is still likely linked to my inexperience, or if it's common for curved blades to not last long. I also wonder if these blades are particularly sensitive to technique.

Make sure your bandsaw and blade tension are properly adjusted. It’s really easy for machines to get slightly out of alignment, which can lead to breaking blades more often. They can still break occasionally, but proper setup is key!
I've had my share of blades slipping off the wheels and bending, which happens more often than I'd like. I think I've only had one blade break while cutting, but issues with tracking can certainly lead to tossing out blades!

As a former professional cabinet maker for 45 years, I can say I've only broken about four blades in that time. Honestly, I wouldn't recommend Harbor Freight tools. Investing in better quality tools and blades can save you a lot of headaches in the long run!
The blades I'm using are Timber Wolf. Do you have any specific brands you would suggest?

I think I'm on the right track, but I’ll double-check the tension instructions. I adjust the top bearings with each change, but I haven't focused much on the bottom ones.
